OK, that one's easy to explain. You know about bumched shrits and maps, right? Same thing, but it happened somewhere on the internet a few miles from here. I think it was intentionally done to emphasis that particular idiosyncracy of the english language. You can "poast" here during breakfast, but are you having "tost" with it?

One that really doitches me off, and is especially prevalent in the south, is the use of "come" for came. ("I was tired today when I come home from work") My GF is a Florida native & she does this, and it drives me absolutely nuts as she is very intelligent but she sounds like a dumb Southern redneck dummy when she does this.
Thankfully she doesn't have that damn accent to go with it!

I did correct myself this week on the take & bring word use. Interestingly i use take properly,,but in place of bring ..i was way over taking

We have interesting word issues ..Wife is from Louisianana & me Harrisburg/Philly

Our words can mean drastic different meanings & the dialect is great fun. I like to coax the South out of her voice in certain songs.

I have a co-worker who says the word axe instead of ask. "Let me axe you a question" "If you need anything feel free to axe me". It drives me up the walls. You are a professional, educated adult. Please say ask. Please

It used to really bother me if people didn't know the difference between magnetic and ferreous but now days I'm impressed if anyone knows that 'alot' is not even a word.

But please only say ask in the context of asking a question, never when referring to a request. Hopefully that is not too big of an ask.

How about, “I’m going to axe you to chop down that tree over there.” :p
