Woke up to the news that my old friend Randy left this plane sometime during the night. I knew he was having a real hard time, but we’d talked recently and I was very much hoping to see him again. Guess it wasn’t meant to be.

If you’re still smoking, please quit. Vascular disease is an unbelievably slow, painful, and ugly way to die.

Here’s a song of his I’ve always loved. Catch you in the next world, Randy.

I won't "like" that post, but I'll agree that smoking completely sucks, and if you're a smoker, quit. Now.

    RIP Randy

Yes, not a fan of smoking. I can enjoy a select cigar, but I can't, knowing its a stumbling block for a lot of folks, and its nearly a deadly poison, so I don't. Sorry for the loss.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. It is terrible to watch a friend or loved one decline regardless of the disease.

The best thing (out of many really good things) to come out of the lockdown and quarantine situation for me is that I was finally able to quit for good. I haven’t had a smoke since March 15. I will never have another one. I tried unsuccessfully to quit for twenty years. It had its hooks in me too deep. The stuff is literally evil.

This is my main Tip for smokers trying to quit-
-Do not put a smoke in your mouth

They do not just fly up there by themselves, it takes participation from you to smoke

I'm sorry that you lost your friend Jakedog. I'm glad you're off the smokes. I've been quit since 1988, but I know for sure the pull they can have on you. In my younger days almost everyone smoked and at an early age. Many of my old friends are gone now. Again, I'm very sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. Great advice. Smoking has taken too many good people. I quit in the 1986 after watching my mother die from lung disease.
Great friends are hard to come by and harder to lose.

    I’m truly sorry, brother.
Cigarettes took the love of my life, my second wife Cindy, eight days after her 44th birthday.
I smoked myself for 16 years.
I’ve been free of them 17 years.
Break free of them if you can, y’all.
