I took off work today to get some home things done. I prepared and baked an apple pie. I followed the recipe to a T, (which was my late Mom’s). After the kitchen timer went off, I took out the pie. I normally place it on the stovetop, but today I placed it on the cold granite kitchen top (don’t ask me why). Immediately, the glass pie plate shattered, sending shards and slivers of glass all over the counter and the floor. The pie looked so good and smelled so good, that me and my wife thought about trying to salvage it. We decided to ditch the pie because glass was everywhere. The moral of the story is, place your pie on a cooling rack or stovetop.
