:DI took off work today to get some home things done. I prepared and baked an apple pie. I followed the recipe to a T, (which was my late Mom’s).

After the kitchen timer went off, I took out the pie. I normally place it on the stovetop,
but today I placed it on the cold granite kitchen top (don’t ask me why).:(:D

Immediately, the glass pie plate shattered, sending shards and slivers of glass all over the counter and the floor.

The pie looked so good and smelled so good, that me and my wife thought about trying to salvage it. We decided to ditch the pie because glass was everywhere.

The moral of the story is, place your pie on a cooling rack or stovetop.

Damn that's a shame, you know what they say though, 'When life hands you lemons make and an exploding lemon and glass pie'

No, never try to separate glass shards from anything, write it off.

Given the experience with the pie, I would, in this instance, despise thermodynamics!:(

It was a hard decision indeed! Glass won over our appetite, thankfully!

I had my wife take a look at your post since she is pie baker in these parts. She said, " At least it wasn't the counter top that broke". :(

I'll admit, that is one way to look at it.
