Howdy- I have read some posts on TDPRI over the past few years and I sure like Teles. No I Love them! If you are wondering about my Avatar-well those shoes were worn by Jimmy Page the first time I saw him live. It was July 15, 1967 and I was 17 years of age. Bought a ticket to the Big Moose Showcase in Lorain, Ohio. The bill was interesting: Sam the Sham and the Farrows; Tommy James and the Shondells; and then the Yardbirds. That hall was an obscure, small roller rink. We stood on the floor in front of the bands who were also set up on the floor. No stage. In your face Yardbirds. I remember Jimmy's shoes, his robe.. I was playing in bands already and studying his posture-his attire-that's what I remember most. I saqw Jimmy again mid-seventies playing with Zep. It was different-he was more flamboyant-playing with a bow etc. He had stage presence.

Since then I have lived a full life and Telecasters have been a part of it. I have seen many fine Tele performances live and also I seek out tele players on youtube. I've owned maybe 7 or 8 Teles and tele-type guitars and still keep a few around. I love to play and sneak a few hours a day into my routine. I'm blown away by all the info posted on this forum. Anything Tele and it can can be found here.

I've been around the block playing-modding-collecting-so maybe I can contribute and share some of my experiences too. Anyways Here I is!

I think on that same tour, the Yardbirds played in Strosacker hall (the main cafeteria) at Baldwin-Wallace College. My daughter graduated from there a few years ago. If was funny to walk through there, knowing Jimmy had been there as well.

Welcome from New Zealand Lefty. Glad to have you aboard. And what an experience! Seeing Jimmy Page, not only in Zep, but in the Yardbirds as well. Wow! Bit before my time all that was, but he is my all time favourite guitarist. Would have loved to have seen him perform.
