I suspect her lawyer did the kid in, and now that they were married, her too. Will he go after the Marshall fortune?

Very sad news, in any event. She was a beautiful woman who lived a very hard life.

I must be honest: I had all kind of really good jokes to crack. But I guess now is not the time.

So all I can say is: tragic.

    RIP indeed.

Everything about this story is sad and tragic on so many levels. I guess in my heart of hearts I'm a softie who wants everyone to have a real good shot at cleaning up their act and living a happy life, and I'm saddened that her shot was cut short.

Very sad, though I can't help having more sympathy for her young baby than I do for her.

    RIP.

Honestly, her baby may be better off. I really don't have much sympathy for bad parents, just their children.

My sister-in-law's firm has been handling Smith's appeal re: the Marshall fortune. She's the one who broke the news to me. She said it was unclear if some or all of Smith's claims will survive her death. Some types of claims survive; others don't. If some/all of her claims survive, then they would probably represent the baby.

Hmm... I have an autographed Anna Nicole Smith mousepad.

    That's a pretty big accusation.

They described the death of her son as a mixture of anti-depressants, methadone and OTC cold meds. Probably because of the first two. Methadone is a tricky buggar. The drug's half life can be exceedingly long in some people. The stuff hangs around long after the "feeling" wears off. If you self medicate or if a inexperienced prescriber gives it to you you can OD.

Her death is very sad to me. She's had a rough past few years and had battled depression for many years. Very sad news, indeed.

It is a big accusation. But as soon as I saw this thread, and then scimmed through it a ways, I was thinking that something's very suspicious.

She's always seemed like a very disturbed individual though, so I wouldn't rule anything out.

I have my criticisms of this forum, but: I posted this news of ANS on another forum and there were several unkind remarks about her weight, drug problems, her marriage to the tycoon - I mean, "cow/slut/golddigger", etc. The understanding, compassion and sympathy expressed in the above posts reflects my own feelings about this woman's sad life and restores a bit of my faith in humanity. Thanks.

last i have seen, i didn't see a cause of death, but i couldn't help but feel sad and shocked

of course the first thing that i thought was that it was drugs since the last couple of times i heard her or saw her in the media, she seemed to be on drugs (prescribed or illicit, i don't know, but she seemed very dosed up)

She wanted to be Marilyn Monroe and lived a similar lifestyle. Pity it had to end the same way too.

It's a sad story, but is it really news? Other then her immediate family, who really cares? It's a tabloid story, not national news. Why is every news outlet leading with this story? I don't get it.
This is a minor rant about the news media, not the woman who died.
