Two beers I drink most during the calendar year are regular anchor steam with the yellow label and Heilmans old style - official beer of Chicago.

Anchor steam is like a marzen with a little less malt and a little more bite.

Old style is my favorite water-bier/lawn mower beer. We all should pick one of those whether we want to or not

I thought that tag ( '70's reference) belonged to Tuborg Gold

Condescend much? I regularly drink 3 of the 5 on that list. Am I: A) a high school dropout, or B) a holder of a Master's Degree? One of them is true.

And in a related story, the Yugo Automobile company is suing Tesla Corporation for stealing their automobile electrical systems technology.

Before I even got to your comments, that was the first thought. It's really is hideous tasting stuff. They've been drinking too much of their own product, it seems. Or as we used to say in my high school days, to express incredulity - "You must be high!"

DFH 60 minute has long been my favorite IPA, I have happily tried and keep trying others but they just nailed it with the 60. Just IMO of course.

I totally get this. People have to remember there's a lot of inertia in beer sales.. for several generations Bud, Coors, Miller, etc.. were practically all you could get.. the giant American beer companies were beneficiaries of prohibition.

Light American Lagers supposedly came to popularity because they were being drank in the Western US in hot weather at a point where most people were doing a lot of hard physical work. In those situations I think almost all of us would prefer the stereotypical lighter american lagers like A-B, Miller, Coors, etc.. are known for. These aren't that far off some of the German styles either and most of the beer popularity was started by German Americans.

I like a lot of craft beers but I'm personally getting fatigued of overly hoppy stunt beers.. Dogfish head is an example of something I usually pass on. Some of that stuff is the equivalent of trying to make the most sour lemonade or the most intestine destroying hot sauce.

Jim Koch of Sam Adams has been outspoken about IPAs being way too popular right now. In some ways he's right.

This post is a funny accurate post.
Technically, their products no longer should be considered Beer.

Yes, brewers seem to have lost their damn minds over IPA.

Beer drinkers all have different likes and dislikes when it comes to all the different brands.
The 2 brands talked about here have both won Blue Ribbons in test tastes, so can't be that bad.
I myself have never liked Budweiser, I can tolerate Bud Light.
Miller Genuine Draft is my favorite. I don't disparage someone on the beer they like because I don't like it. I certainly wouldn't call them uneducated, that would be a real D**k move in my opinion.

Anheuser-Busch has been trying to buy out Miller-Coors for a few years now, but Miller-Coors is resisting and that's why the lawsuit has come into play.

My recollection is that the health and exercise boom was underway, plus beer companies were trying to appeal to women.

I happen to be among the group who prefers a hoppy IPA on occasion, but doesnt drink a lot of beer. Just a few here and there when the mood strikes, unless its a Chesapeake blue crab feast, thats just an exception!
Right now I keep a few Heavy Seas Double Cannons in the fridge, along side a small supply of Yengling [sp?] (I'm too tired to check it) Lager.
No !ight beers for me thanks. I have spring water in the fridge if needed.

Companies can battle over light beer turf all they want. No skin off my... Um... Junk.

AS long as they don't steal Pabst, I can still go back to high school.

This time of year there are plenty of Octoberfests available.
I won't say I don't like IPAs, but I am in disagreement with the whole more hops is better movement.
