Can you save money on finishing by doing your own prep/masking? Or did you already?
I sanded the body to 220. He did everything else. I don’t think me doing the masking would save anything, and it’s something I don’t want to have to do anyway.
And that price is actually reasonable for guitar finishing. The other guy I’m going to use has quoted me $400/body.
Got the beauty shots today.
And now on to the next one
Roger, that turned out spectacularly.
Looks great Roger .
Very nice work.
Roger, simply gorgeous. Well done. BUT - putting up against a craggly old rock - Risk taker, you are.
Thank you, Robert! The pau ferro pickup rings were a great touch!
Thank you, George!
I had pieces of leather behind the guitar where the body touched the rocks
Hot stuff! That’s a sensual guitar right there
I truly love that body design! And it looks stellar out in that nice sun!!!
Excellent as always Roger!
Wow, that looks fantastic!!
Thanks, everyone! I appreciate it.
I've only just seen this thread (how?!!) and I've read through it from start to finish. That is a really beautiful guitar; it looks original without being deliberately in-your-face, it's subtle yet attractive.... Absolutely bloody gorgeous.
What does it sound like?
That's a real beauty.
That's lovely, nice work.
Looks fantastic Roger.
