Go heavy on the physical therapy.
Go out of your way to make them know how important guitar playing is.
Stay away from Pain Killers as much as you can. They are Not your best friend!

    Best of luck

Definitely going to be doing everything I can to get the ol’ hand strength back. I’m in the baby pain meds right now but
Don’t see myself going any higher than what I’m taking now

Man, those types of injuries really suck, but there is an upside to it as well. Being how it is your dominant side, you will develop new abilities making you more ambidextrious after healing up.

I had my right forearm broken by a sledge hammer years ago. I was holding metal engineering stakes while another Marine swung the sledge to drive them home. Worked fine for a few hours until he got tired and the aim drifted....I held on tight enough to suffer a compound fracture and was unable to use that arm for 3 months.

By the time I healed up, I was proficient at eating, writing, throwing, etc. with my left hand. Granted, it still aches every winter some 30 years later, but I would never have gained that dexterity without being forced to adjust.

REst and get better. Prayers for healing.

Go to physical therapy when your doctor thinks you're ready. Three years ago I developed tennis elbow in both arms and lot a lot of strength in both hands. It was bad enough that I bought a new small body acoustic because I couldn't play my Martin dread.

I went to PT, did the exercises, and continue to do them every once in awhile when it flares up. But I haven't had to do them for months. And I'm ready to get that Martin out of the case again.

Well guys, no cast. Surgery! It’s tomorrow. You know the bony but of your elbow on the inside of your arm? It broke off. Never had surgery before but there’s always time for firsts

Was this real wrestling or theatrical TV wrestling? You say the crowd went wild. I didn't realize professional sports had crowds yet.

Yes, I’m a pro wrestler. Lol my school has families come to the matches, so technically a “crowd”

You will be OK...it will heal, some practice and you will be right back in the saddle.
A family member of mine reached for a falling katana and ended up almost completely slicing his thumb off at the base...today, he plays quite well.

Moral of the story, if you like to play guitar...don't reach for falling 3 foot razor blades....let it hit the floor.

Do you want to wrestle or play guitar?

    “Elbow only bends one way”

    Sounds normal to me! ;)

How many ways did it bend before?

    I wish you luck

Are they gonna give you warning? Or are they gonna knock you out and then pry your device from your hand?

We could be talking to a surgeon now

I wish my elbow had only bent one way. Guess 2 is better than one? Maybe not right now
