You should also consider what sounds you want out of it. If it's loud and cheap and it still sounds bad, it won't help you.
For example:
I really like a C10Q for strictly cleans and it's cheap. Not too fond of even a slightly dirty tone through it though.
A Emi Ramrod sounds dull to me at low volume or for clean tones. Sounds really good with loud rock sounds and is one of the louder 10's out there.

Another example:
Celestion affordable Ten 30 or the "predecessor" Tube 10. ~50€$£ new and a middle of the road tone that "works" for both clean and dirty but with a sensitivity of 95dB it's a relatively quiet speaker. Quite a big difference between 95dB and 100dB, like the Ragin Cajun, Ramrod or some of the Weber speakers.

Used (and broken in) Recoton Jensen C10Q. Loud, cheap, does a decent job. All day under 50 bucks.
Like I say, the market is strange right now. Cheapest used C10Q on Reverb is ~$65 plus shipping.
A new one is $70 plus tax is around $80.

SO -- Just went ahead and called my Sweetwater guy ~'what could he do on a $109
Eminence 1058
.' Answer was he could get it to $95 which came to --> $107 delivered,
which basically covered the tax. Should arrive tomorrow. Thanks all for your time and
helpful suggestions. Also -- cab is done.

UPDATE:

Solid State 35w Peavey with reverb in my homebrew cab with the Eminence 1058
sounds absolutely HUGE paired with my ~5w build through the '60s Wilder vertical
2x12". During warm weather months we practice in my friend's garage, but in the
colder months (in Chicago) we're in my basement. The SS Peavey and ~champ
pretty well RULES in the basement at a manageable volume. EXCELLENT.

Glad to hear it worked for ya! The Legend series doesn't seem to get as much talk as other speakers, but I can't remember ever plugging into one and thinking "this sounds bad". That big dust cap on the 1058 really spreads the treble frequencies around and makes a 1X10 amp sound very 3D.
