Nice knife. Benchmade? Looks like an Emerson design.

I used to carry a pen like yours, but it blew up on me and I couldn't trust them anymore.
The I realized I've been carrying these G2 pens for 10 years and only lost 2 to blowups, but they were all minor and completely contained. I suddenly feel like it's only a matter of time until I get one dribbling ink all down my front pocket.

Pretty simple if it's pockets. Less so if it's the pack or bag I'm carrying for work.
    1. Car & house key on simple ring.
    2. Extra thin wallet with minimum stuff (license, credit card, insurance card & a few bills)
    3. iPhone XS Max*
    4. Apple AirPods*
    5. Mini Leatherman tool.**
*Now my watch is or can be a phone so not always #3 and #4.
**If not carrying one of my packs or bags for work, bike or skiing.

It's just the cheap tote bags that businesses give away ( like pens, pads, mugs) at network expos...

    Funny:
Mine says something about TEACHERS on the outside- and I never paid attention ( even after years) of the writing.
I was in line ( forget where) someone saw the bag and asked me " So, are you a TEACHER?"
    I responded " No, it's just a bag."
( I think the person was disappointed)

I have a bunch of Benchmade knives but this one is an actual Emerson. I have a second with single grind tanto blade and no wave but ended up finding the clip blade more versatile and got used to the wave opening the durn thing every time I pull it out.

I’m a pen fan too and don’t really like this EDC pen either, but have trouble finding just the right pen!
For years I carried fountain pens and even mixed my own ink to get the blackest possible without clogging.

    Yeah I like my stuff!

LF: folding money under $10 denomination and change - sometimes my phone if I'm sitting down.
RF: 2 keyring - one for the car I'm driving, and one for house, shed, etc keys.
LR: wallet including >$10 bills if I even have cash
    RR: phone

If im in cargo shorts the phone goes in a side/thigh pocket.

EDIT: in days of yore i also carried a comb in RR. Hasn't been much use for one in a long time... :(

Here’s an EDC that was with me for over 20 years in one form or another but stays home now that I’ve pretty much stopped shooting film. One day I’ll pick up a used Leica digital body.
Complete with dog leash strap from Petco and blacked out branding from sharpie!

I gave up on moving my wallet from rear pocket to front right pocket on mass transit. So I decided that I will keep my wallet in front right pocket all the time. The wallet is also one that cannot be scanned.

My manly self esteem is maybe not up for any man purse like gear, but I've found a messenger bag causes no insecurity, and I can even pull off a wide flat fanny pack from EMS if I wear it like a messenger bag across one shoulder behind my back.

Only when away from my vehicle for an extended period of time though, like on public trans in a city.

Keys and billfold, that's it. And there's no cash in the billfold.

    I'll play.

    Right front pocket:
    A medium pointed V-Pick

In my bag (Manhattan Portage Medium DJ Bag, black):
Keys, with Eargasm earplugs in their case attached
    Wallet
    iPhone
    Sunglasses
    Knife (Kershaw Cryo)
A small notebook, mostly for lyrics and song ideas (I like the little green military logbooks)
A couple of cheap ballpoint pens
Whatever book I'm reading (currently "The Cooking Gene" by Michael Twitty, highly recommended)
Wireless earbuds (SoundPEATS brand (dead cheap and sound really good!)), with charger
A couple of reusable grocery bags
A USB drive, contents unknown (it's been in there for a while)
    A wad of Starbucks napkins

This is the most fascinating thread we've had in years!

Waistband (Just to the right of my belt buckle, for quick access)—Kershaw pocket knife

Left pocket—keys, small .5ml bottle of patchouli essential oil (no, I’m not one of those people, but it does help my mood), 5/8 socket modified to be a slide, 1 tube Burt’s Bees lip balm

Left rear pocket—bandana and cell phone

    Right rear pocket—wallet

I carry the same exact stuff in the same exact pocket every day.
If I accidently stick something in the wrong pocket its as good as gone forever, or at least until I wash the clothes.

Yes. That's just it. I'm almost never very far away from my vehicle.
But the thought of going through life with empty, comfortable pockets and carrying everything in a man bag is intriguing. grab-n-go. Everything is with you, but not dragging your pants down.

Sounds like a great setup! I've been looking at manhattan portage - pretty cool stuff. How's the build quality?

Wow, most of you carry a lot of stuff. And I sense a degree of worry amongst a few...decoy wallets, handguns, etc.

I carry the smallest version of the Swiss Army knife (the toothpick and screwdriver are handy), nitro (three heart attacks, doctor’s orders), car keys (two keys and a fob) and a thin wallet. My iPhone tend to gets tossed wherever I am. End of story.

What’s all that other stuff for?

Recently switched from carrying a pocket knife to carrying a Leatherman. Way more useful. It has bailed me out at gigs several times already.

I like the handkerchief idea. May hafta use that one, myself!
