My latest tube amp build is giving me grief, So I looked around the shop/garage/stash bin for a project. I have a Danelectro Baritone neck I bought years ago and I a "too thin" Pine Tele body that I started way back when, added some book matched figured Mahogany to the top to bring it up to 1 3/4", and I have a little sideline build to keep me busy until I can figure out what to do about the amp.

Cool. I like the way that head works with the mahogany top. Should be a good looker when it's done.

For those Bari builders doing your own neck, this may help.

Progressing slowly. I needed to get the neck pocket done and the neck attached so I could make sure what string spacing I need at the bridge. Used a couple of rulers to track the string path, kind of hokey, but it works. It's a hair over 54 mm, 2 1/8", so I think the vintage bridge would work the the best. Anyone have any input on this. I've checked numerous Tele bridges online and the specs are not very consistent. I would like to use a 6 saddle bridge and prefer it to be both top loader and thru the body. Also, I would like to keep the cost down.Anyone ?

    What kinda pickups?

I think a bigsby-ish tailpiece is super cool on a bari, there are plenty of lowbuckversions out there

    I'm going with EMG's, the T system.

I thought about using a Bigsby-ish tailpiece, but I'm just going traditional this time.

I'm thinking P90s would be sweet in this build.

Ordered the Joe Barden bridge with 2 and 3/16" string spacing, fingers crossed. Also ordered the EMG T system and some D'Addario XL 157 bari strings. When they arrive, I'm back at it and I'll post progress.

    Very cool!
I'm putting a plug in for TV Jones pickups.
    They all sound great, IMO.

Bridge and EMG T-system just came in. Unable to get to it for at least a week, but it's ready when I am.

Back from vacation, made some progress today. I had to modify the bridge pickup mount holes on the Barden bridge to fit the EMG, just a bit off, as was the hole the pickup fits thru, just a wee bit tight. You might notice the control plate a bit forward of the bridge because if I placed it like a normal scale Tele, it looked too close to the rear of the body. Still not sure if I'm going to put a pick guard on it.

I'd like get to get it done in the next few weeks, but life keeps getting in the way.
