Fender Original Vintage are fine, fine pickups. Cheap too.

Excellent pickups available at any good guitar store.
Better than any custom shop pick ups I have tried!

The pickup used until just a couple years ago on this model is the Original Vintage.

These are pretty close and like Diamond White says, the price is normally pretty fair. No real way to know what the different ones cost in your country.

The pickups in my Squier CV-50, white blonde, are, imo, far better than the OVs or the 52s..

To your ears they may well be. But I can't see anyone using them for an upgrade, which is what this thread is all about. I doubt you can even buy then as an aftermarket set.

Maybe it is because very very few people are replacing them.. The Tonerider "Hot Classics", which you can buy, are purportedly the same as the Alnico threes in the white CV- 50s. And to my ears, they are a drastic upgrade to about every pickup I have ever heard... Cost of a pickup means nothing as far as upgrades go, imo... My CV-50 was a drastic upgrade to my ';91 American Standard and to my original 1966 Telecaster, that I bought in 1967.

Those are good pickups actually. Alnico 3's, I used the strat version of those pickups (Tonerider TR5 'Surfari-used on Classic vibe 50's strat) as an upgrade. And even though they only cost me $40 they were definitely an 'upgrade' over the stock pickups they replaced un a high quality, USA made guitar

Agreed that these are great pickups. I have an extra bridge pickup waiting for a project to put it in. I haven't checked in awhile but Angela's used to have these available for purchase.

But to the OP - you can't go wrong with OV pickups. I picked up a set off Amazon for about $70. Can't beat that.
