My Am Sp is now sporting a mint green guard.
Just picked up a new AS Tele today, I posted it in another thread, but this looks like the main one.
Very high quality feel and has all the things I prefer, vintage bridge, no contour, and fairly light weight. These are really great for us older players who remember what the basic Tele always was- simple and great!
Sweet..... I do wish that they made them with a 7.25" radius. I find it more comfortable to play with my arthritis. Its sure a ***** getting old!(yet its better than the alternative)
It must be different for everyone, I have some hand arthritis, and the 9.5R is better for my (large) hands. I find the 7.5 R causes cramping sometimes if I tried to work it too much.
Oh, and after moving the Pickup heights a little, and playing with the amp, the pickups both sound very good now.
Picked it up a few weeks ago
pretty understated cool guitar ya got there Understateduncool...picked up it's older cousin a few weeks back a 2011 model that's had a couple fights but still looks and plays loverly ....she's my new baby..
A friend needed cash to buy a banjo, I got it right.
2012 Am Spl with Vince Gill emg pickups. I can her Loreana.
that's a beauty Fireball...not a combination you see often....Loreana is HOT...
Thanks brother! I'm awful proud of my girl.
I've joined the club.
I have a 2011 Am special tele... the pickups are superb in my opinion. You can stick custom shop labels on anything but that don't necessarily make it "better"... except for the label. I bought a set of "custom shop" strat pickups and they suck compared to the standard set that came with my USA strat.
I thought I'd ask my question here since the odds of someone working with the pickups in question would be a bit higher.
I've got a 2012 Am Special tele with the older Highway 1 Texas Tele pickups, and have been thinking about adding a middle pickup like a Nashville. I love the tele pickups just as they are, and don't want to swap them out. However, seeing as these pickups are higher output then "normal" (I've seen specs in the neighborhood of Neck: 9.77k, Bridge 16.27k), I'm assuming that I may have some extra challenge finding a strat middle pickup that would work well.
Has anyone "nashville'd" their Am. Special? If so, are there compatible pickups on the market? Or am I looking at asking for a custom wind?
I just got today a Sherwood green American special telecaster. It sounds excellent with the Marshall DSL amp but I plan to use it mostly with the tweed blues junior.
