I've read some comments on here regarding not liking the looks of this guitar. To me, it is perhaps one of the most gorgeous Teles I've ever seen. This is a MUST have for me...right up my alley and will be a fun guitar to color coordinate an outfit with. Now this isn't anything I EVER do, but as blue and black have been my favorite color combo since I had my first pair of Jordans, blue and black combo, of course, I would have fun putting together an outfit to match my purse...uh..I mean my guitar :) . No way am I not getting this!!

I'm not sure why they list one of the new features as rolled fingerboard edges though. Haven't they been for quite some time now?

Have you seen it in the flesh?? I have... I don’t think I can say anything nice about it so I’d better say nothing...

A lot can be said while saying nothing. No, I haven’t seen it in person yet. But I’ve liked every picture and video I’ve seen. I highly doubt it’s that extreme a difference in person. But I’m coming from the perspective of what I like, obviously. So time will tell.

I'm thinking a matching blue tux with a pirate shirt and a blood-red carnation and cummerbund would work... :D

it's a really cool finish. Fender will sell a ton of these. rolled fingerboard edges have been standard on American lines since forever. they aren't fooling anyone w. that ish

HAHA!! Yeah, that caught me off guard as a "new" feature. But yeah, I LOVE that finish and do look forward to seeing one in person!

    We all have different likes.
Me? I wouldn’t play a guitar in that finish at a lizard wedding.

I don't go for sunbursts at all, and this to me looks like a reverse sunburst. In any case, not a look for me. That said, I am certain that Fender knows their business better than I do, and I am out of the market (more than loaded up on guitars) anyway. Seems like a lot of people are digging that finish, so I suspect sales will be good.

It's like Antigua's cool older brother. Or uncle. Or both?

Also posted on the other thread - rolled fingerboard edges start at this "model level" with the American Series that came out in mid-2000. Reading between the marketing lines it sounds like Fender is using a more radically rolled fingerboard edge on the American Pro IIs - Fender started the more radically rolled edges on the American Ultras last year.

Thanks, AAT65. I'm guessing I'll have to order this one without seeing it in person first. At least if I want to get it as soon as possible. So meaning no disrespect, I do hope I disagree with your first impression of seeing one...haha. I do know there have been times I've been disappointed (and surprised) by a guitar when I see it in person. So time will tell. And I'll definitely throw a new gear day post if I grab one :) Cheers!

HAHA!! And even though I can admit I think Antigua looks a little like puke, I actually love it on a Tele.

I’m not interested but noticed the most popular solid bodies at Sweetwater are the strats with sss leading over ssh.

Thanks burntfrijoles. I’ve certainly been both disappointed and surprised when I finally see a guitar in person, so I’m hoping I remain as excited when I see one. Time will tell :)
