I bought this guitar in late 2018 and had played it seldom until lately. I swapped the bridge pickup out for a Seymour Duncan Antiquity ll 60's Twang and started to really get in to the tone and volume I was getting out of this pickup. It has been my main player lately, I bought the guitar online from The Music Farm out of Canton, Ohio. I was very pleased with the set up on the guitar before it was shipped, and the customer service I received when my PU selector switch failed shortly after I received the guitar. They immediately sent a replacement no questions asked. C shaped neck, nitro finish, double bound body, and a great plush case. redtele3.JPG redtele1.JPG redtele5.JPG redtele6.JPG

I’ve been eyeballing one in Lake Placid blue.

I almost bought a 60’s lake placid blue when I was in the market. Love that color.

@MickM The factory stock pickup may have been defective, the Duncan PU has a lot more volume and clearer highs.

I'm very surprised to hear you had a bad experience with the pickups. The '64 Tele pickups are some of the best I've experienced. No lack of volume!

My AO60's is the best guitar I've laid hands on. It's a work of art! Honestly these are something special.

That certainly is a nice guitar!

    I love my A.O 60’s , it’s my “workhorse” tele
I have an antiquity II bridge in my paisley tele and love that pickup, for the A.O I like the stock pickups

These are great, and the finish is a lot thinner than the internet would have you believe

I wonder how they determine which case they get, I love the one with the center pocket, seems like most come with the regular case, I guess it’s whatever they have on hand

Since an LPB showed up I figured I’d post a pic of My sunburst, I really wanted the fiesta red I think that’s a beautiful tele

Live the AO’60s! I so nearly bought one a couple years ago (but went with the Jazzmaster instead) and I still hanker for one. The one I played was Fiesta Red and it’s a great finish — now discontinued. If I’d seen the LPB in the shop I might not have been able to resist.
Can someone post a pic of the Burgundy Mist to complete the set??

I think the centre cases are supposed to be for the Strats.

Nice, sweet guitar. It's sad you neglected it for so long, but great that you're playing it now.

Here's my copy of it's older brother, the AV '64 Tele in Fiesta Red:

Nice guitars for sure and the Fiesta Red looks terrific. Glad to hear both your purchasing and playing experiences have been good.

I’ve wondered about that, I’ve only seen a few teles with the center pocket

I’m glad I got one I like it a lot
