So I am trying to build my first Tele and found a neck I like. Can anyone recommend tuners for the Fender American Original 50's neck? Something that dosnt require any modifications to the tuner holes? Thanks.

Do you not want vintage style?

How about vintage style fender, or gotoh or klusons?

They will fit without any extra holes, I like the stock fender vintage tuners that have “fender” stamped in the center

Vintage Kluson-style Gotohs. That's what comes on it.

I got the Gotoh Vintage locking tuners but the grommet seemed to be loose in the front facing counter bore. The instructions show some tool that is used to hammer the grommet in place. Note sure what is needed.

I have a Mexican made vintage 51 U shape neck. It’s drilled for the vintage tuners. I put Gotoh vintage on it, and they work well. I did have to shape the nut slots, and it was very tricky, but I did it. Ended up buying a set of Hosco files, but now I know to dial in a new nut!

I’ve used clamps to get the bushings in, gotta be careful though because it will crack the nitro on the face of the headstock if they are too tight, or worse yet crack some wood

    Snug is okay though
