Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that Fender's videos on their website now have subtitles? I may be wrong, but if you're deaf, I doubt you'll be buying a guitar or amp anytime soon.

It's probably for the tone deaf. They buy guitars too. Just head to a local open mic night for confirmation.:)

My ears ain't what they one I were so I often use closed captioning, but I'm nowhere near deaf. Sometimes it's easier to discern what I just read rather than what someone just said.

I watch a lot of British shows, now my first language is French and I am good, really good in English, but occasionally when they use the hot potato in the mouth accent, I will turn the subtitles on.
So, maybe for those who are not so proficient in English.

I think it's a good thing, for me that english is not my first language it can be really helpful, sometimes some dudes speak with strong accent and it's easier to read.....

Also being deaf wouldn’t mean you aren’t buying something.

I wish that first dates came with subtitles.

    I'm hard of hearing.

I love subtitles and always use them when watching television or youtube.

I did chuckle a bit at this:
But, that said, I found myself sitting in a crowded, quiet room watching this very video for a specific piece of information, and the subtitles were actually very convenient...

Ricky Gervais. Can't ever understand a word that guy says. So I can't tell if he's funny or not.

I would think that would be for deaf folks who have a relative/friend they might buy a guitar for or just a general interest. perhaps for folks who just have partial hearing. also beethoven.

It's for the married guys that are afraid their wife will yell at them for looking at new guitar videos... they can turn the sound off and read the subtitles.
