These are getting aluminum necks too so they will be pretty different.

You need to get our more! That's the evil futuristic liquid metal unstoppable robot from one of the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger "Terminator" movies. You were 21 when that came out, prime movie-going age. :) And, I know ... the robot was supposedly titanium, not aluminum.

But I'd still call that Strat "The Terminator" if it was my guitar ... :)

That’s one of the hardest things to do! Not like you can go to a store and play one.

Fender made some aluminum Strats in '93 and '94. IIRC they came in chrome, purple, American flag graphics, and some kind of tribute to Freddie Tavares. Reportedly, they dented easily, sometimes when in the case. Once in a while a vintage dealer will offer one. I have no clue what they would sound like.

Yep they made about 400 total reportedly between custom shop and standard American versions. The pickguard on this one is from the guy that did the anodizing for the custom shop models, Peter Kellet.
