    Okay. So i think i wanna get into amp building. I was thinking a champ build, since it's a simple amp and I REALLY like the tone of my friend's silverface champ. I have fairly limited experience. I have soldered new pots into a circuit board in an amp, replaced a bias pot, obviously i can solder, bias, and drain caps. I can somewhat grasp a schematic. What's a good source for parts, and preferably a step-by step kinda beginner's guide?

    Kit? Depends on either quality or cost.

    Cost = Weber.
    Quality = Mojo.

    Mojo uses good stuff, but is pricey. Weber uses really cheap stuff, but is economical.

    I'll start with a Weber chassis and circuit board for a replica amp most of the time. I then build it up with quality parts sourced from numerous sources. I'll buy individual parts from CE, Mojo or Weber only if I can't readily find what I need NOS.

    It's a lot easier to get it all at once as a kit.
