I came across this the other day for the first time. I never knew that Allparts offered this kind of reproduction body. This is the closest i've ever seen a RI body come to looking like an actual 1968 Pink Paisley Fender. The Japanese RI tele's from the 80's don't look right to me. But these are just gorgeous. I might have to break down and pick one up!

They do look good. I think they just started doing paisley a couple months ago. They are a bit pricey if I remember.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that it was Alder.

If you go through a dealer it's not 780. Just like guitars and amps.. that's list price not actual retail.

I was quoted 600 actual retail. That's a pretty good price if you ask me...

the Allparts description does not say.

I have one at the house and I really can't tell by looking at it. Alder or basswood I suspect.

All in all a much more pleasing sensory experience than the MiJ/CiJ paisleys.

Looks the same as the Tokais color wise. Fabric instead of paper?

    Yeah, cloth.

Your dealer's cost will be $ 390. Find yourself a friendly local dealer who will pass through most of the savings.

I had one of these, they are Alder, and yes it is cloth. The only problem is the weights vary and they will not give you the weight before purchase. Mine was light but another fellow said his was heavy as.

most retailers are trying to get 30% margins on their products, hence the $600 street price . . .

Sorry to disagree Mark but the allparts bodies are different from the pink CIJ bodies. The allparts bodies seem to have a much better color and the pattern is much more "busy" like the old ones. The allparts bodies and tokai bodies are questionalbly similar though.

FWIW I have seen nothing on mine to suggest the covering is "cloth" ... regardless of what Allparts may say.

FWIW I am very impressed with the one at the house. It looks more like I remember the old ones looking like when they were new than just about anything I have seen.
