    Guitar Center is going broke!
    Gibson's quality control sucks!
Modeling is the greatest achievement in guitar technology and will soon replace tube amps.
Modeling will never equal the tonal qualities or desirability of tube amps.
Leo Fender created the Telecaster to be an inexpensive instrument and wanted any Tom, Dick or Harry to be able to assemble one in their garage using scrap wood.
Custom Shop models are all sizzle and no steak. My (choose one: Squier, MIM, MIA) _____ can be made to play just as well.

This and more from our "correspondents"...

I'm hoping others will add their "breaking news" and expert views.

Gibson invented the whammy bar as an effects pedal for the banjo before it was widely used for the accordion.

On another non-music site I frequent, they merge these things into "megathreads" to try to reduce the noise. I don't know if that's technically possible. It would probably be a losing battle anyway, waaay more users here.

it is the distribution of toms, dicks and harrys that determine how fun the forum is.

I bought mine “a few years ago” (aka 15-20 years ago) for 200.

I worked with a guy who was always saying that stuff. “What? I bought my X in the 70s/80s/antebellum south for 100 dollars.” To which I’d always respond “Yeah and how much was a house or a car, like 150 dollars?”

I paid about $200 for my (sadly former) 1973 Strat back in 1988. Why can't I buy another now for $200?

Still, more factual than CNN, MSNBC, NPR, and the other corporate media put together.
