Over the years--- I had an Epiphone 1956 Gold Top which I sold. I then bought a Gibson Les Paul 60s Tribute (which I thought the Epiphone was slightly better) and sold. I then bought a PRS SE Korina One! Which I sold. Now I'm looking for a P90 guitar again. Sigh.

I have two P-90 guitars, the first one is a 1997 Epiphone Casino VT that my sister "borrowed" (stole) from me and the last time I played it I was tempted to borrow (steal) it back!

But, since my current P-90 guitar sounds so sweet, a 2016 Epiphone "Inspired by 1966" Century, I am still able to scratch my P-90 itch.

Oh yeah, I also have a P-94 in the neck position of my 1991 Gibson Les Paul Studio and it sounds gorgeous too!

    .

You must remember that the P-90 was the design target/baseline for the humbucker contraption. The humbucker had to give up a lot of tone character to achieve noise reduction.

And it's pretty difficult to mess up a P-90.

My first P-90 guitar was a modified Strat. Then I got this. Inexpensive and sounds great.

I have one P90 equipped guitar I will never sell. Kind of a weird tele copy but made like a Rickenbacker, full canoe rout back with a glued on top. I am selling another (a strat type) with a P90 which I will miss, but not like that weirdo tele. I will never miss that one, because it's a keeper.

You got one of those? I've been itching for one since they came out and even have an AlNiCo waiting for a home. Opinions? How would you compare it to a maple-topped P90-equipped LP?

I have always thought about venturing into P-90 land. The Epi "1966 inspired" Century is the one I have had the most fun and success in a store so far. Thought I'd hold out for an Epi DC LP Junior, but I might be dead before they reissue that one.

My wife bought this ES135 for me about 15 years ago. It has P100s rather than P90s. I did briefly own one which had the pickups swapped for P90's but never bonded with it.

Eight years ago I came across this as a loaded body, with engraved top and P90's. I don't know who made the pickups, but they sound good to me.

The Les Paul Junior is a 2015, despite the wide neck and robo tuners I like it. That they were almost giving them away adds to it's appeal.

    I played one of these (Les Paul Studio Gem series) when they first came out, but at the time did not have the cash. maybe I should try to find one;

Yes, I have one and I really like it -- ebony fretboard, Gibson pickups (not as hot as Epi p90s), 50's wiring. My favorite thing about it is the neck -- nice and full. I really don't like most Epiphone necks, which are the 60's slim taper variety. Mine weighs in at 8lbs 9 oz.

I've never played a maple topped LP, so not sure about that.

This guy in a bar in we saw in Canada Prince Edward still had his 60ish ES125 and original VVR - stellar sound for jazzy solo vibe.

Telecaster long scale, no feedback, height adjustable pickups. I like my Casino but it doesn't like me. I never play the Les Paul. This one is gig ready.....

Maybe...you don't actually LIKE P90s as much as you think you SHOULD? ;-)

I know. You have no idea how many times I have put one in my cart. Are the tuners any better these days?
