Sometime around 1990 I spent three months singing with a band that Depp used to be with (Rock City Angels). In fact I sang a song he co-wrote with the band (Mary).
Any juicy details on how he was to work with in a band?
What a mess. Joe's off on planet nine just like a blanket of noise.
Huh? Have you heard the original song? Not a bad rendition of Robert Fripp's work on that song, in my opinion.
Actually I liked what Joe was doing.
Who's the guy with the red SG?
It's not what Joe was doing, its i the fact his volume obliterated everything else.
Sure seemed like throw-away crap to my taste. Could that song be any more boring?
Depp's Tele was nothing but a prop, slung so low he couldn't have played it to speak of anyway. Just to look "cool".
Two of the four 6-string guitars on that stage were of no consequence - musically.
I just don't understand people flocking to crap music like that.
But I'm old and was in my formative years, musically, when Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Cream, the SF Bands, and all of that was going on, so.... what do I know?
Jack Sparrows "dad" plays teles..what did you expect?
Yeah, Bowie has a lot to answer for . . . /s
So, that was a Bowie song? Damn dull and boring. No wonder Bowie didn't get my attention for more than a song or two.
And, that's the best composition the Hollywood Vampires could come up with for their national TV appearance?
All pretty worthless, in my opinion. The song and the band. I would say the same for most of the pablum that so many of the snowflakes are gumming on these days. Mindless, dull, boring pulp.
He can sing in tune no doubt, but its not a 'voice' is it.
Top comment in the comments section (in my window anyway) was
"Keanu Reeves should join this band and play bass "
It (the comment) has 1.5K likes. 1501 if you include mine...
Alice Cooper looks great, and so does his Tele. Anyone know the details about that guitar? Is that the '61 that his wife found in a pawn shop for $400?
That's super cool. I'm a fan of their "Young Man's Blues" release.
Never heard of anyone not digging "Heroes" as a song, or Bowie's material in general, but I guess there's room for all tastes
Each to his own i guess. But 'Heroes' is considered by many to be one of the most influential records ever made. Some say it was the catalyst that brought the Berlin Wall down. Certainly, thats what the German government said in their tribute to him after his death. And that Fripp guitar part is meant to be loud. Thats how the song was written. I agree, it's not a great version by the Holywood Whatsits, but not awful.
Looks like a Fender Deluxe Blackout Telecaster MIM
perhaps bit more used, err... relic'd
When was the last time somebody assassinated a Bowie song...? Yeah, that was a mess. I like Heroes but that version just never went anywhere. Who is that on Joes guitar?
It's not a bad cover. But considering who the original Vampires were I'm not sure the "band" is an upgrade. At least it gives Alice something to do.
That looks a lot like it.
I though it might be a heavily modded '61, as I have never actually seen the '61 I have herd him speaking about. The neck would obviously be from a later Tele.
