^^^They would plot to kill all the humans if you believe what some media outlets are reporting

I know people that are hooked on them.

None of that here. I took it off my phone.

After I mowed the lawn the other day, when I put the mower away, I heard a voice say. Aren't you getting hot out here? I said yes, I am, I thought it was my wife talking from the backyard. Turns out it was the lady next door talking to her dog! That's about as close as I've been to an Alexa experience.

Susan Bennett is the confirmed real life voice of Siri and has done interviews.

Amazon is more mysterious about who the real voice of Alexa is, but a journalist tracked her down and identified her as voiceover person, Nina Rolle.

We had an Alexa device, but eventually the novelty wore off and the creepiness creeped in. Out of the blue the bot would start talking or the wife and I would discuss something and ads would start showing up on phones and computers etc.

It's in a drawer somewhere.
Exactly our experience! Alexa (device) is unplugged and in a drawer somewhere, and Alexa (functionality) is turned off on our TV and Kindle. And while we were at it, we completely turned off Siri on our phones and iPads.

There's absolutely nothing we miss or lack through turning these things off. And we do understand that Big Tech can find more new ways to follow us around than we can find out about.
