The mainstay of British alternative rockers The Arctic Monkeys, Alex Turner has brought the Fender Stratocaster back to life—at a time when most guitarists would rather play a trusty Les Paul or a Tele.
His first Strat, used all over the Favourite Worst Nightmare album, was a black Fender Stratocaster made in Mexico with a maple neck. You can tell it’s Mexican made because of the 21 frets and the 6 screw bridge.
This guitar was auctioned for charity in late 2020.
His other Strat is, ironically, an Arctic White Standard Stratocaster, though some sources say it is Olympic White finish. This one has a maple neck and 20 frets.
He mostly uses the bridge pickup on this Strat, which Alex also still owns. These days, Alex mostly plays a Gretsch, various Les Pauls and a Tele, but the Strat was his first electric guitar!
