“The Secret Life of Plants” by Stevie Wonder. Live Stevie but don’t buy that album. In all honesty I cannot claim anybody claimed it was good before I bought it.

The most memorable was long ago. I was a big Hendrix, Cream etc fan, loved guitar driven rock. A musician friend saw a band that he just raved about and insisted I’d love ‘em so I dutifully trotted out and bought the album. “Three Dog Night” was the single biggest disappointment of my listening life. Jeremiah was a bullfrog? Oh, man...

My brother had a live 8 track of theirs that I thought was pretty good, even though I was not a fan.

    I LOVE this album,
I play " You're No Good" and " Baby, Let Me Follow You Down" on acoustic at home just about every day for kicks.

( note: in the early 2000's I kind of played catch-up getting really familiar with all the songs on Dylan's early albums.
And I really took to a lot of his solo guitar playing, and taught myself a bunch of songs, just for kicks, good hands and brain-work practice. He was pretty solid )

I bought it because it was a "classic". I like exactly two songs on it. The rest, especially the last two, are filler.

Do you listen to any solo acoustic guitarists? If so, which ones do you like?

I can see your house from here.
I don't enjoy Tommy Emmanuel's music either, so maybe it's a genre thing for me.
Acoustic solo pieces that come to mind that I've liked are by Julian Lage and Pat Metheny.

Marigold. Greg Howe with a talented lineup playing rock. I just can't get into it, the chemistry is off.

I loved how much Prince kept an eye on the band. Super-essential to do on stage, but so many lesser lights can't be bothered with communication and teamwork.

Another guitarist and did a reading gig with a small orchestra. I tended to keep my eyes on the score, but not on the conductor. My partner kept nudging me, whispering, "Watch the conductor! Watch the conductor." There were a number of creepy things this guy said, but this was great advice.

I like the cut of your jib, sir. Disagree on a few but really **really** agree on a few others (Tull, Saxon, Chicago, Stones post 72). So many of those acts are sacrosanct here and broadly elsewhere. Good to expand one’s horizons.

Ha, thanks. I think my dislike is probably down to overkill, and overplay to be honest. That's to say I don't hate them, but it wouldn't bother me if I never heard them again. There is a lot of music I used to like, that i just can't bear now, and a lot I never heard, or missed out on that I absolutely love. Swings and roundabouts I suppose. ;)
