Holy mackerel, I had to play one on a pickup job one time 30 something years ago. The only amp available was a small solid state guitar amp and the bass had DEAD flat wound strings. I walked away with gas money (barely) and blood blisters on my fingers. But hey, exposure.Hagstrom bass!
Apparently, it's a Gram Parsons song. 1968. He was in The Fallen Angels with E. Harris at one point.
Emmylou recorded it in 1977, and hers is a much more interesting and dynamic version.

Rodney Crowell on the flattop?
And rocking the same haircut I had in ‘77!Hank DeVito!
Writer of Queen Of Hearts, the Rockpile/Juice Newton hit.
Great pedal steel player and songwriter.
Yup, singing great harmony, too!
