Freight Train is not Alan Jackson's song, although he did cover it recently. It was originally written and performed by a Canadian named Fred Eaglesmith. Fred is a FANTASTIC singer-songwriter, and his fans are called Fredheads.

Anyway, I used to play Freight Train as part of my show about 5 years ago. If I recall correctly, it's basically 3 chords over and over (Am - F - G) and at the end of the chorus it goes to E for a few bars then back to the same three chords again. That's about it for the rhythm, sorry I can't help you with the lead parts. Good Luck!

Here's my whack at the Intro, I only have excuses for its imperfections (Guitar Pro is a pig it adds notes in the Std notation) I hope it's close enough to get the idea.

Freight Train

Hey guys,

Here's the whole tune, pretty much. I didn't bother with the fills in the first verse cuz they're pretty basic. I did, however, tab out the mandolin solos. I've got to cover those live so figured I might as well include them.

Oh, and somebody asked - I'm using Finale 2009 to notate everything. It's a little cumbersome for TAB stuff it works for me.
