Hello!! anyone got tabs for alan jackson-freight train?
I don't have the tab but I have the intro, 2 electric and flat-picking solos figured out. If you don't find tabs by this weekend let me know and I may be willing to write it out for you.
that would be awsome!!! i really love that song
Freight Train is not Alan Jackson's song, although he did cover it recently. It was originally written and performed by a Canadian named Fred Eaglesmith. Fred is a FANTASTIC singer-songwriter, and his fans are called Fredheads.
Check him out here:
Anyway, I used to play Freight Train as part of my show about 5 years ago. If I recall correctly, it's basically 3 chords over and over (Am - F - G) and at the end of the chorus it goes to E for a few bars then back to the same three chords again. That's about it for the rhythm, sorry I can't help you with the lead parts. Good Luck!
Well...here's the acoustic solo
Will try to get the other ones to you soon.
I just got a midi guitar and tab software and it's taking me a while to learn how to use them
Thanks AD Good Job
Everyone no doubt knows Brent Mason is credited with all guitar work on this album I had to confirm this but I kind of guessed it, Great track from a solid CD.
Thanks Kiwi Caster! I'm going to have fun with this program once I figure it out. Midi doesn't track the bends very well so it takes a lot of time edit things.
Yeah...I suppose I should credit Brent.
Here's the first guitar solo...I'm learning this with my band right now so I'll put up the end solo soon.
You saved me a lot of work.
What program are you using?
Here's my whack at the Intro, I only have excuses for its imperfections (Guitar Pro is a pig it adds notes in the Std notation) I hope it's close enough to get the idea.
Thanks for the first solo GtrComp1 nice tabbing.
Diesel Locomotive ......................... Yee Hah!!!
Here's the whole tune, pretty much. I didn't bother with the fills in the first verse cuz they're pretty basic. I did, however, tab out the mandolin solos. I've got to cover those live so figured I might as well include them.
Oh, and somebody asked - I'm using Finale 2009 to notate everything. It's a little cumbersome for TAB stuff it works for me.
Well thats Freight Train done and dusted.
Awesome work GtrComp1 Thanks again
Thanks kiwi, when my band starts playin' it live I'll see if I can snag video one night and post a link
Say hi to Walker for me :^)
you guys are wicked.... i just joined and am looking forward to trading licks with all of ya... have a 52 tele replica...
damn awesome tabbing again!!!! I love this place!
How I play it...
I've started doing videos of some of these since my students kept asking me to show them how I play these things...thought I'd share with you guys as well.
