They’ll be needing a new drummer, but I hope they’re still a band. They’re a band I’d love to see live.
Man, just googled. I like to give the benefit of the doubt but he's got a related prior.

Yikes! Who could harm a child???

I saw them back in 2013. Great band. Hopefully they reform with a different drummer. Brittany Howard is great too.

I love Alabama Shakes. Always felt they could have been a great band but they changed too much on
their second album. Could have been the record company aiming for hits, who knows.

I love Brittany and Alabama Shakes. But I think she's solo now, for quite a while...? maybe that will change though. Drummer? meh. I'd love to see them too.....

One of my favorite modern day bands. Brittany’s solo effort...not my style. Couldn’t get into it at all...way too much going on. Beauty of the shakes is their tight rhythms, melodic hooks, and Brittany’s phenomenal voice.

She is a formidable talent whose music, for some reason, does not really work for me personally.

But man, she's got the goods, alright. The year they were nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy, they lost to "Fun"... remember them?
"Hold On" was Rolling Stone's number 1 ranked song in the top 500 for 2012. I know not many people take much notice of RS these days but it's still a good rap for them.. Same song also was a turning point in saving a marriage that I may be a part of..

Another huge Alabama Shakes fan here. Surprised at some of the responses to the second album which I thought was far superior to the first record top to bottom. In their interviews, Brittany Howard and Zac Cockrell (the Shakes bassist) bonded over their shared love of a wide variety of music and that's what is reflected on the second album.

I may be overly optimistic, but I think the Shakes will do something in the future. Zac still plays with Brittany on both her solo album and live so the 2 founding members of the band are still working closely together.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions yet. When children are involved, any accusation is considered credible, till its not. And, for most of us with gray hair, what constitutes abuse today, were valuable life lessons for us personally. He says he's innocent, could be a mad retaliatory gf, and he's been stable with the band for a while now. Or, could be a failure on his part.

I thought so, too. It was a big departure from their first album, and that always means some people aren't going to go for it.

I liked their first album a lot, but IMO, nothing on their first album comes close to a song or performance like this:

As a side note, that bass player is incredible. Who here wouldn't love to have a bassist like that in their band?
