So good. Such a great songwriter.
Great album. Never gets old for me.
She's HOT, indeed, in more ways than one!
And Make a Killing is such an awesome song.
Current pic from her website. Great songwriter, bass player, singer.
She could make a killing!
Aimee is SO great. I'm a long time huge fan. Self-effacing, dryly humorous, such clever lyrics, and always has a great band with her. Don't miss her live if she comes near your town.
A sublime talent and songwriter..........
Lots of cool guitars, too!
Saw her at the Old Town School of Folk in Chicago 8 or 9 years ago. Mesmerizingly superb.
"Voices Carry" made it hard for me to take her seriously until a friend put on "The Forgotten Arm" when it came out- great album, and it led me down her back catalog. Still can't get with 'Till Tuesday though.
She was one of the small handful of artists my wife and I BOTH really liked and we used to go see her every chance we could and had several of her albums. Probably saw her 6-8 times, even got our older daughter into her as well. Just a sublime songwriter, I always thought she and Elvis Costello had a lot of similarities. I love her singing too, just the perfect instrument for her wry lyrics. She was always a blast to see - great sense of humor among other things. It’s been a few years since we last saw her, but was still put her music on,
Lost In Space is a fave of mine.
Too bad she lost a toe.
It's OK, she believes in nothing. NOTHING!
The Til Tuesday is a bit of a leap because of its obvious pop production but the whole experience served to set her up to be who she is now, and how she views the industry.
But given a fair listen, it's still her and still good songs.
I was waiting for that reference, Dude. I'll have the lingonberry pancakes...
I saw her opening up for Jason Isbell last year. Loved her stuff off the new Mental Illness album. Bought it immediately. She played acoustic guitar with a small group..
LOVE Aimee! Never thought about that before, but the earlier comparison to Elvis Costello is quite appropriate.
One of my AM faves:
I recently found her Ultimate Collection CD in a bargain bin for $1.
Criminally underpriced for the content...
I really like her overall vibe. To me, especially with her glasses, she looks like the cool older woman who runs the book shop in a college town. She writes interesting tunes. I saw a recent video where she sang "Vices Carry" at a show. It still hold up.
