Makes me sort of uneasy, feeding mountains of data into a box, which then ‘learns’ from that and outputs artwork and music, in all sorts of intriguing styles, something that takes you and I years to attempt to master, that can now can be generated in minutes… I do wonder where this’ll lead?

Robots have been painting cars for decades, Now we've wrapped the robot in a human looking shell (and gave her a double chin for some reason) and now it's news lol?

I think Robocops are the immediate future, they can be programmed to ignore law breakers, and have no Family that expects them home after a mostly thankless job.

The difference being that robots painting cars are following a specific program that doesn't deviate without human intervention. Ai-Da is painting based on "her" influences and inspiration, and she learns and improves on her own (and by hardware/firmware/software updates...)

Machine learning is just the beginning. It goes beyond robotics.
    AI is in it’s infancy.

I'll take your word for it, I dropped out of my A+ courses in the late 80's, When my Father (A programmer, and lifer at AT&T) gave me the best advice he's given me to date...

"I don't know why you're studying programming, You hated school and barley graduated HS, programming is never ending classes." :p

I still find it hard to believe that Robot-girl created her own double chin.

    Ai-Da is cool.

I know many alleged humans who are far more robotic than this artist.

When it’s real and the robot has advanced AI, the robot will retaliate against the abuse and blow its handlers away!

    Hi.

Ha ha. I’m upstairs, trying to watch this on my phone. Didn’t realise the phone was sending the sound to my large Bluetooth speaker downstairs as I turned the phone vol up full (which turns the Bluetooth speaker up) to see if the vid had a soundtrack.

Then I could hear my family’s raised voices along with some other cacophony downstairs and genuinely thought someone was trying to break in there for a second.

Then it all came clear for me. Phew.
