This is not unique to hipsters, as much as they'd want to say they did it before it was cool.

It is interesting to live in a hipster transition zone. Downtown they run amok confusing irony and sarcasm with alternating breaths on almost every street corner. Further in the countryside it is a bunch of White Pickup Trucks sporting “Oil Field Trash” bumperstickers for miles and miles. Both concern me, lol. I do like that redneck hipster swagger, though! Way better than watching hipsters try to act like rednecks. I have lost count of the hipsterized versions of “Man of Constant Sorrow” I have been subjected to out here. Normally sung with heinous amounts of fake twang and zero real respect for our great rural music traditions.

I’m pretty sure my grandparents said the same thing about my parents’ generation, and so on.

That doesn’t mean that I don’t feel the same way, but I digress... :)

My uncle used to say, of my cousins and I, back in the grunge days:

"They're trying so hard to be different they all look alike."

I don't know. I think the world turned the corner about early 1990's. The internet destroyed anything it touched including humanity.

now everybody shouts past each other, the music sounds like it was made in a microwave and the clothing and the ideas are pretty much just bad xeroxes
there is no attempt at understanding anything, all anybody wants is a either a one sentence answer, or could you just do this for me and then give it to me free?

its really not a proper world at all. countries used to be really really different and different areas had different food and music and ideas and now its just one clump of balderdash and everbody has to beleive it or they are "insert favorite derogatory term here"

a world awash in princesses and unicorns and snowflakes that beleives everything and understands nothing. I hope we were a bit different than that. I know I've been a skeptic most of my life.

when I was a wee lad we had to suss it out in our heads and then do it and if it fell flat, figure it out and try again, instead of endlessly discussing on the internet and don't get me started on binge watching pseudo reality while your life burns away and you get fatter and dumber by the minute. who thought that was a good thing???

sorry I remember skinny woman, good music and good times and I find the future has less of all of those and more stupidity, and just general boneheadedness than one could ever imagine even in a bad parody. its so bad you can't even use satire, cause no one understands it.

yeah every generation changes, but this aint just about people, its about the path of humanity and I personally don't care for the direction this tragedy is heading.

    guess I'm officially a geezer...

Did you hear about the hipster who got burnt sipping his latte?
He drank it before it was cool.

I’ve written a song about this ironically after an experience in a hipster coffee shop called “Cool Beans”. We now call it “Cool Beanies”. Almost finished recording it. Should post it on Sound Cloud soon.... and yes, nonconformity in perfect lockstep unison. *stares past iPhone at black socks*...
