She had best kick it up a bit, or she'll be rear ended by a soccer mom in a van!

Think of all the man-made tech that went into making that documentary possible. Think of the hypocrisy that goes into these films!

Think about the reality of a collapsed ecosystem because of human caused climate change.

There's a certain beauty in this if you think about it.

We’re here, whether there’s a reason for it or not, and there is certainly beauty to be found in humanity, but I think the argument over whether the planet would be healthier without us here is over. That ship has sailed.

After my time in Atlanta, I am incapable of imagining a time when that city would not have traffic jams. Ever. Those aren't traffic jams in Atlanta, but traffic stoppage. Three and a half hours from Marietta to Lithia Springs. This was a regular occurrence for us.

Ultimately, nothing. We do it for ourselves. not to diminish the value people hold it with. Unless we find some way to propagate the species throughout the galaxy, everything here ends when the Sun bakes the Earth to a crisp.

Enjoy it while it lasts. At least the Universe was aware of itself for awhile.

THis thread brings to mind a novel by Gore Vidal, Kalki (1976). It's a novel about a plague unleashed by humans that wipes out all life on earth. I read it in around 1980 as a Long Island Railroad commuting novel. There are tie ins to the culture of the times, but Vidals depictions of what happens to the earth after the humans are gone are disturbing. The crumbling and disintegration of modern man made structures is etched into my mind.
Here's a link to a free downloadable PDF. There are too many of us with time on our hands these days and and no money for anything but the necessities. I wouldn't call this an enjoyable read as much as a disturbing one.

    Who does that though?
And what’s the point of an Earth without humanity anyway?
