Whilst I love the laid back Cale original, this one's pretty good too:



Eric's wah solo is sweet and the outro is classic EC.

Cale's version is far and away better'n Clapton's.

The production and mood is more fitting for a song called "After Midnight."

(But, Cale has been my main man for more than 40 years... saw him twice.)

However, Clapton put a coupla nice check's in Cale's mailbox for many year's.

imo.

It's kind of a po-TAH-to vs po-TA-to thing, both are great. J.J is a little more in my wheelhouse, but the EC covers are sure fire party music.
