when I shave I keep my left eye closed. I have no idea when it started. I also tend to keep my mouth in an O shape the whole time. It kind of makes me look like W. C. Fields. Or a startled pirate.

That o shape mouth thing sounds familiar. I think I do it because it makes my cheeks taut , makes a better surface for close shaving.

Don't know about the eye thing, I shave in the shower. Maybe it improves your aim.

The o shaped mouth could be a _________ thing.

Fill in the blank with the first 5 letters of the word Trumpet.

The corners of my mouth don't get shaved closely enough if I don't open my mouth closely enough. I also hold my chin like a trumpet player when shaving the part under my mouth.

I remember as a child watchin my Dad shave, and being entertained by all the faces he used to make in the mirror while shaving. Those were the days of the double edged "safety razor" which could cut/nick you quickly.

And for those of you of that vintage age, do you remember the slot in the back of the medicine cabinet for used razor blade disposal ? Imagine all those blades piled up over the years, down between the studs of the bathroom, and the room behind it, walls. What a treasure-trove to come across when remodeling.

One time I was at the eye doctor, he was going to put some drops in my eye and told me to lean back my head. My mouth involuntarily did the "o" thing, and the doctor said "I'm not gonna put it in your mouth".

Yes, ours had that slot. I've often wondered about that myself. About 5 years ago, my younger brother found the house we grew up in. It had been moved 2 or 3 miles away.

Now I'm wondering about that wall between the closet and the half-bath in that house and if the subsequent owners over got out all the old super blue blades.

Yeah, I had the same thought. Those things are probably all rusty, too.
