I remember those; really a different bird, to say the least. IIRC, it was a legitimate model Fender made in the early 2000's. Never played one, so I can't comment on how they sounded. Price seems high to me, but you'd have a guitar that no one else has.....:D

I don't think the price is excessive for that guitar, but then I'm a sucker for a nice 'burst!

It's legit Alan. I tried one - didn't like it. It was neither Arthur or Martha. It had a charictor of its own. Didn't work for me. Pretty, yes. But!!!!

Fender have produced two different Tele shaped Acoustasonics, 15 years apart?

The first acoustasonic I remember came out about 03 and was a thin acoustic looking shape

    It looked like this

I remember the year because that’s when I started to play, I read a guitar magazine with an ad for one of these in it a thousand times that year

The listed guitar in the o.p has a 2010 serial?

It has no soundholes, so even if it's chambered, where and how does the 'Acousta' thing happen?

It looks like a Tele with a neck pickup and an acoustic bridge to me. Hell knows what the Fishman does.
