Is on in the background whilst I perform desk work.

I am looking at one Telecaster-type guitar as I type.

Miranda did me in on the ACM drinking game- drink every time the band's instruments match color, every time a fiddle, banjo, dobro or pedal steel is played on stage but can't be heard in the song, every time the camera cuts to Taylor Swift....

    Luke Bryan was just on.

Hip hop continues to be the #1 influence on today's country.

Advanced demographic marketing is right on its heels at #2...

My maternal grandparents thought the world was going to Hell in a hand basket when my parents started listening to The Louvin Brothers and Hank Williams...all of those electric instruments you know.

    :)

What is being performed tonight is country music by the constantly changing definition.

Seen a couple of matchless amps and a metric ton of PRS's. Did Mr Smith just give a guitar to every player in Nashville?!?!

I was just going to start a thread on the sad state of the country music industry. I am not a country fan, I don't know a majority of the artist on the show but I do know that Charlie Star the singer/guitarist of BLACKBERRY SMOKE has more talent than 97% of the acts I have seen on this show tonite.

It appears to me that all the past complaints in TDPRI about CMA shows have been heard loud and clear by these artists tonight. So far the blatant, hip hop rapping style and crotch grabbing have been withheld.

    Good work TDPRI!

What's not to like. They make money playing music and their music makes lots of people happy.

    G. Strait had a fiddle and a pedal steel, and dobro, all audible.

More teles in four Coachella acts.

There's plenty to like. I just soak in the songs I like and make fun of the ones I don't. That's what I like...
