A thread got locked - not sure why

I don't know if this is the proper place for this. If there is a better way to reach out to mods more privately, let me know.

I was just about to post an update in a thread of mine (this one), when I saw that it was locked to further replies. I can't see a reason for it. The thread wasn't old, or off-topic, or political, or anything else objectionable as far as I can see. I'm curious what led to the lock and if there's any way to undo it (or prevent this in the future). Thanks in advance for the help!

That should not be a reason to lock the thread IMO. Sure, remove the offending posts...seems like this is happening more frequently, not just here. Strange times indeed.

Sometimes there are enough offending posts that it's simplest to delete the thread.

Perhaps we need a separate Forum Topic called "The Blowtorch Files". Mainly for mystery occurances and dark secrets within TDPRI. "The truth is out there." [Cue X-files theme.]

How to sort of undo it...

Start a new thread called something like "How to tame a loud AC15." Maybe reference the old thread like you did in the OP of this thread. And carry on the discussion. I've seen this done many times to continue--in the desired direction--other locked threads.

The thread was never deleted. Just locked.

Whether that thread can ever be re-opened depends on what kind of thread locker they used.
