It’s a Fender American Professional in Crimson Red Transparent with a dark rosewood fretboard that weighs just under 7 pounds at Willcutt Guitars. Number 903.

I don’t want to sell any of my current guitars to get this one. So I just don’t want it enough. Bless you if you buy it. I have no financial interest in this guitar.

Anyone else stalking a particular guitar, amp, or pedal?

It’s a new guitar at the common list price and Willcutt was willing to give me a nice deal on it. I went for a used Road Worn 50s Tele instead that is also light (half the price and a great guitar) and followed that up a month later with a Classic Player Jazzmaster. So I’m set for guitars for a while.

So about $1,400? What are you waiting for snap that up.

I've been really gassing for a double bound tele (black or red). I've been watching this one on Craigslist but $1000 for an MIJ seems a tad on the high side

That MIJ is pretty nice, and the prices for MIJ have been climbing. You should go play it.

I've been watching a guitar on Reverb for 4 months. I put in an offer that was what I consider high market value and it was declined. Seller just wants too much for it. If it's still there at 8 months maybe I'll put in the same offer, I'm sure it'll just piss them off though :p

If you haven’t jumped on it by now you obviously don’t need it.

I say you barge in there, throw down $200 cash (in $1 bills) and yell “take it or leave it!” loud enough for everyone in the place to hear!

...anyway, that’s what I would do...

I watched a black custom shop telecaster at willcutts for about 3 years. I wanted it bad, but couldn't find a way to raise $3800. finally, one day it was gone. maybe someone will trade it back someday.

I've been watching a custom shop esquire in shoreline gold in my local Fender dealer.. hasnt sold for two years now.. but I can never raise funds for the price they are asking for.. its already a good deal for a new CS, but I dont have the money even if I sell all my guitars, I'll still come up short.. but I dont want to try it because of this...

"You don't choose the guitar, it chooses you.

If at any point in time you cannot afford a particular guitar, don't play it. If it chooses you, you have to buy it. If you simply can't beg, steal, or borrow, you will eventually die of a broken heart.."

Don’t these guitars that sit over a year eventually go on a fire sale?

For example, there’s a new Olympic White American Professional Strat with Rosewood fingerboard at my local Ted Brown for just over $1K. Great price for a new Fender AmPro.

Willcutt has a parallel universe Tele in orange that I’m drooling over. They have like 10 of them in stock. I’m kinda curious as to why they didn’t sell.

It seems like most of the Parallel Universe models didn't really take off. Plus Willcutt's bought a bunch of those orange Gretschy ones - it seems like they had over 20 at one point in time.

I try not to look at guitars I cant afford and if I do spot one I end up assembling a identical looking partscaster for a fraction of the price.
