One of Australia's best (if not THE best) motor racing drivers was Peter Brock. He was killed while racing a Daytona Sportscar, a replica of the original Shelby Daytona, designed by a fella named: Peter Brock!

    I did not know that.

The USA’s Pete Brock penned some great designs.

Australia's premier motor race (with the possible exception of the F1GP) is a 1000km race at Mt Panorama, a rather torturous track. The aussie version of Peter B won it 9 times.

When Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray, I commented to someone that the only other Aussies I could think of with a similar profile would be Paul Hogan or Peter Brock. A week later Brock was gone. Hope I didn't give him the Kiss of Death!

And note to self, don't go motor racing in a car designed by my namesake

Funny, a Superperformance Daytona Coupe came up on Bring a Trailer last week. Beauty of a car

Maybe the Australian Peter Brock didn’t have the right kind of crystals attached to his car...

At the University, I had to pay a parking ticket for another fellow, who had the same name as I - otherwise they wouldn't score my classes for the semester.

    Oh, the humanity!

Anyway, I can kinda see why the younger Brock was inclined to drive this classic design, especially with a namesake designer. Would you pass up that chance? I would not have, I know that.

Here's the late P. Brock on a qualifying lap 30 years ago, hairy stuff on a tricky circuit

It's like Jet Li's The One, but for cars.
