We boldly went where, ah, uh, enough of that!
Coincidentally, our TV, which had done well as a good and faithful servant for over 13 years, "went home" last Wednesday. It was our first big-screen digital TV set, and was the first set my wife and I ever had to last more than 5 years. It was a Sharp 46" from December 2007. Never a problem until last Wednesday. It is now lying is state in the back part of the house.
We got a 4K 50" Samsung smart TV. Just hooked it up yesterday. I don't expect it to last the 13 years the Sharp did. I'm still learning how to use its features.
What what I have read, Robert Goulet was appearing on the TV that Elvis shot out. Elvis was NOT a Robert Goulet fan.
"Smart TV"? Isn't that an oxymoron?
I've been thinking of getting the new OTA app. They have a show called Route 66 that looks interesting. I googled it and can't figure out how to download it. I'll wait a bit and maybe it will be on Peacock or Hulu.
Sounds like you had a Trout Mask Replica week.
Mannnn, that's going back a ways!
I'm getting a Samsung 58", they called me on the phone (a recording) (how do they do that?) and told me it would be here tomorrow between 11:30am and 01:30pm which is kind of cool. Young son called me this morning, and said don't set the TV up by yourself, I'll be over right after work, and help you so you don't drop it and break it. (he knows me) Okay, I says. (It'll be pretty cool having a professional engineer help set up the tv anyway!)
