this thread made me find this whole record... man, carlton is great on this.. super understated... great memories of it!
Just a couple that come to mind
Reminded me again of John Denver's song too :
That’s an easy one... it was a thread here on tdpri recently that reminded me of one of my fav bands from yesteryear that I had all but forgotten, and now as I listen to this album the songs are like old friends...
Battle of New Orleans - Johnny Horton
Buddy Holly’s Tell Me How
I would have bet my house that was a product of Motown.
Growing up, I remember this song but must never have seen the band doing it for sure..
+1 Love Michael Stanley Band. Saw them several times in the late 70s early 80s when I lived in S. FL
"Airport" by The Motors.
Try not to laugh too hard but with that opening riff I'm instantly back in high school. BTW, has anyone seen my cargo shorts?
I guess I listen to more music (from all sorts of sources) than many of you.
My Logjam was back before Youtube, when you could easily have a song sort of get away from you and you didn't know how to even find it. Now, that's next to impossible - you can pull up the most improbable things, easy.
IMO, these days, you gotta dig pretty deep:
Rediscovered them a couple weeks ago.
AC/DC Down Payment Blues.
In fact the whole Powerage album
IMO... this is a great song, recorded and performed to perfection (for it's day) plus it includes some outstanding guitar playing by Amos Garrett.
I always like to think of these guys as a Canadian version of Triumph. Except Triumph is Canadian, and these guys aren't.
This is playing on pandora right now...
