    ***Argh! I made a mistake. In my zeal for simplicity I overstated the longevity of the simple three tube compliment in Champs. Many of my august comrades here (thank you, sincerely) pointed out that the earliest Champs had an octal, 6SJ7 preamp tube, which is absolutely correct. Mea culpa. Thanks for helping a brother out...and thanks for watching with such a keen eye.

    Funny, I just watched your video before coming on here and finding this thread. Great video! I most appreciate your drawing my attention to Julian Lage. Great player with an amazing Tele/Champ tone. Everyone should check him out.

    When I bought my 5e3 clone from Sligo Amps, he said he had sold some of his builds to Joe Walsh. Could've been a Sligo clone of some sort.
