I have an unabashed love for old guitars that have been used, abused (in some cases), modded, tossed aside, or otherwise deemed unworthy of most of the typical vintage purist's interests. Here is an extreme mutt that I recently acquired: From what I was told it could be an early 50's neck and perhaps body as well. Refinished more than once, no pencil dates left, tummy and forearm contours, pots date from '52, bridge pickup is an old Champion lapsteel pickup with a baseplate, old (late-50's) toploader bridge... Like I said, its a real mutt. Keep in mind that I cannot, beyond a shadow of a doubt verfity the authenticity of the neck and body, but they do exhibit some of the signs of an old blakguard (the 12th fret dots are the early-50's narrow width). It plays and sounds excellent and is a nice contrast to my '66 Tele: All in all I'm happy with what I've got considering that I don't have much $$$ into it. Thanks for looking, and have a nice day!
