    Hi guys,
I'm a new member here. I just wanted to confirm that André Duchossoir is still alive, he lives near Paris, France. I'm in close contact with him as we have to meet in October.
    All the best.

    Wow!

What a classic old thread to revive.

Thank you for the update Gilbert. Please pass on our best wishes to Monsieur Duchossoir.

    :) Peter

I have been trying to figure out how to contact ARD. He did a great article on Charlie Christian pickups a few months back, for Vintage Guitar. I have a model he's probably never seen on my obviously custom-ordered Gibson D-7. '38 or '39 I believe, Looks just like a CC, but has adjustable polepieces, and is much more like a P-90 underneath.

Andre is indeed alive and well, at least last time we spoke, which was not that awfully long ago. His time is fully taken up with his "real" job in the financial industry and with his lovely wife and son.

I read in some of the earlier post the implication that he somehow worked for Fender, he did not. Andre just had a major love of the Fender guitar since he was a kid, and wanted to write some books. He and I became very close over the years, he stayed at my place when he was in the States, I stayed with him at his flat in Paris, and he took care of my son when he went to Europe for his HS graduation. oh, and he ate more of my wife Dana's homemade Lasagne than any living person I have ever seen! He became a close friend.

I gave Andre a double F-hole Esquire (he dubbed the Page-o-caster) because he was my friend. It wasn't payola... it was a gift from a buddy.

I'm glad I saw this thread... even if it is a few years late!

    Cheers!

How about this. I got a copy of Andre's Strat book in the mail yesterday. Found it on eBay.

Clarification: The OP of this thread was initially attached to a 6 year old thread on the same or similar topic.

Other info was added to it over the past few months.

I removed the new posts, created a new thread and tried to sanitize it by removing all references to it being a Zombie thread.

    Hope this helps.

Another welcome from me Gilbert. I'd hate to be an employer who had to pay an hourly wage for the time I've spent looking through ARD's book.

It's nice to see that Andre' is back writing about guitars! It's nice to see current photos of him too... it's been many years.
