A Paul Bigsby made 1967 prototype guitar, they say. Yeah Right it is! ...And yet, it's cool.

NO WAY that's a genuine Paul Bigsby made guitar, it just differs too much from anything he would make.

But real Bigsby of not, there's something about it, it has something going for itself.

I saved the pictures for prosperity.

So from what I can gather it has some kind of built in effects processor, like a Vox or Godwin Organ guitar controlled by that weird metal thing underneath the strings, the bridge pickup is a Fender Jaguar pickup and it has the biggest volute ever to be put on a guitar neck.

I guess if you can find pictures of Barney kessel and Howard Roberts playing one it could be corroborated

It looks like a fender jaguar pickup in there with the claw around the cover

Curious, to say the least. I would be interested how close it mimics the instruments it lists, or is it more like those early electronic console organs with the cheesy sounds.

I'm pretty sure the latter will be the case here.

Anyway, here's some genuine Paul Bigsby made guitars.

As I said before, that weird organ guitar in the OP resembles NOTHING that Paul Bigsby made.

Gonads? If you have gonads on your neck, you've got a big......well, you know.

    It's not a volute either, it's a goiter!

might be something inside the goiter... looks liked the white plate on the string side gives access. plate is too big just to cover a trussrod nut

    but overall... ish

I kinda like the Bigsby guitars. in the late 60s there was a used one in a local music shop, I always thought is was hand made. actually... guess it was

At least the headstock wouldn't break if you drop it!

Paul Bigsby was a true innovator way ahead of his time...

The bridge is really odd, individual saddles like the old rosewood sj200's.

The seller is reputable and has been around for many years, but he's got himself covered here: "Paul Bigsby may have worked on this-no way to know, the pots are 1967, Paul died in 1968, ..."

If you believe that Paul, late in life and after selling his company, came from California to Wisconsin to work on this, and you have more money than brain cells, then this is the guitar for you.

I sure would like to hear it in action, whoever built it. Get busy enough on the fretboard and no one would notice the necksack. That bridge is nu—ah, pretty interesting.

Seems to me there's plenty of room on that fugly headstock for "Bigsby" to fit.
I'm certainly no expert on the subject, just making an unqualified observation.
Then again maybe his name went with the tremelo buisness? Like when Leo sold Fender to CBS. He couldn't put his name on things after that.
