Came back from a morning run to the grocery store to find our dog has gotten on the counter and eaten a whole bag of doggy joint supplements. I just forced a few oz of hydrogen peroxide down her gullet and am now waiting for her to return the stolen goods.

Our dogs did the same thing. This is pretty serious and can result in liver failure and other complications.

If all of the stolen goods aren't returned with the peroxide (do a count), you may want to go to the vet.

Best of luck.

Yeah, we learned that any open surface, with the possible exception of the fridge top, is not a safe place for anything tasty after our smaller dog ate a whole box of Mozartkugeln. Those are chocolate-enrobed pistachio "marzipan" truffles. He was fine, but that was luck.

I talked with the vet, the peroxide seems to have done the trick. She deposited five piles of half chewed supplements and then her breakfast too, so it looks like we’re in the clear.

That’s great news.
A friends dog into a bag of homemade edible cookies. She thinks there were 6 in the bag. The big border collie was very lethargic. Everyone panicked and they made a mad dash to the emergency vet clinic. Vet said it’s common and 99% of the time there’s no real harm. An IV and a huge bill later Daisy went home…still stoned to the Ts. Unable to negotiate the stairs, she slept at the foot and blocked any easy ascension until morning.

Our dog recently ate an entire bag of chocolates. I was going nuts! I even called Canada Pharmacy Partner to ask if I should give them any meds. Thankfully, after a lot of panicking and pacing, everything turned out to be fine. No signs of poisoning, just a very full and slightly guilty-looking dog

glad your pup is okay! that is always scary!

My wife caught the dog on the counter friday, he'd eaten a full stick of butter... she called and asked me what she should do and I said, 'leave the back sliding door open'

there was a pause and then she laughed. He is fine.

This dog constantly reminds us food left on the kitchen counter is fair game… butter, bread, tortillas. Foolish of us to think she wouldn’t go for the medicine, even though our other dog hates them.
