Well, I hope that doesn't happen, but not read rules in a while.

I was looking for a Baha for a while, neck and pickups reason mostly. Even got a PU set but sold before trying them. This was when this place got me making Teles, and I sold off my real Fenders as my DIY compliment grew... and grew.. PU curiosity still exists neck, have used the bridge model. Little raw, how i like a bridge PU..
We’ll be fine so long as your masochistic preferences don’t surface again! :)

One of the longest active threads in the forum. You're definitely in the right place, Morten. :D
Wow, cool to see!

I think that if I had to sell off all my guitars, the Baja would be the last to go and I'd fight the bailiffs with it too. I changed the controls for a standard 4 way set up, plus gradually and unfortunately the two stock pickups gave out. Now has a similar output set of SD Hot Teles and it's lost its original Desert Sand finish too.

A workhorse and a partner in sound.

I feel the same way about mine! Wow, That’s a beautiful looking guitar. Did you sand it down yourself? So you removed the phase button, but kept the rest of the wiring?

I love mine. Since I got it, I have acquired a few more guitars, so don't always play it. But when I do, I remember how much I like it.

I did replace the entire set of controls. The S-1 was noisy and cut out occasionally. I had no use for the out of phase settings. Also replaced the stock pickguard - static issues.

Love the pickups and the neck especially.

Yes they are pretty similar except the Vintera Modified has an Alder body. When they first launched the Vinteras they had a Butterscotch blonde in Ash but when Fender stopped using that wood for the Mexican line they dropped that color from the line. Here's is that short-lived model:

Isn’t the bridge pickup also different, broadcaster single coil (Baja) vs telecaster single coil (vintera) or is that basically the same thing?

I’m further a happy Baja player since 2007, welcome to the club!

According to Sweetwater, the Baja has a "Custom Shop Broadcaster single-coil bridge pickup", while the Vintera has a "Custom Shop Vintage-style Single-coil". Are they the same? Beats me...
