Hey, all. Here’s a video I put together this evening honoring my dog, Earl. He passed a little over a week ago and was the best friend I ever had. I didn’t intend to do this video, as the guitar playing was just something I jammed and took video of on my phone earlier today just to keep for future reference. The random shots of the interface and computer monitor was all it was initially. But in listening back, I could just hear what I was feeling in the music, so I wanted to put something together for Earl.

It’s “told” by the guitars that came and went throughout his life. I was a serial trader, seller, buyer for awhile, so you’ll see quite a few of them..haha. And I do believe he enjoyed my playing. For 7 1/2 years he was always by my side or nudging the back of my arm as I played so he could peak his head in between. One of the pictures in the video shows this, even.

Anyway, it’s far from polished, you can hear the TV in the background at times, and I was just jamming on the spot, but this one was for my best buddy. And man did I cry like a baby putting the video together. In a strange way though, it was a bit healing too. I share this for him as well. I had a pup that passed in 2008 and I wrote about her here, so I need to do the same for Earl. He was about 11 - 14 years old. We met through a rescue group so I never knew his actual age.

Thanks for watching if you do. And give your pups, or any loved one, an extra hug for me and Earl.

Beautiful video. I have to go now. For some reason I can’t see too good all of a sudden.

I’m sorry, Jakedog. Wasn’t my intent, but I suppose, of course it’s sad. If it’s any consolation, I haven’t been able to see too well these days either. Thank you for watching and for the compliment, my friend.

Beautiful tribute. I lost my first best furry bud when I was 10. Those were dark times. And when we got our current dog 4 years ago, those memories almost kept me from going forward with it because I wanted to shield my kids from that loss. But then I remembered how he was the one thing I’d look forward to after a bad day, and that I couldn’t / shouldn’t keep that from my kids.

    I’m sorry for your loss.

Thank you, Cpb2020. I appreciate the kind words and the sharing of your experiences. I say you did good getting a pup for your kids. And for you. Unfortunately we know going in that they will break our hearts, but man, the amazing times shared and memories made are priceless. They really teach us and remind us of so many important things.

Losing a beloved dog has to be one of the toughest things life has to offer.

Thanks for sharing that lovely tribute, and hang in there.
